Our software expertise and experience encompass system-level programming for secure enterprise-class applications. Our software developers employ Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) Level 3 proven and systemic approach to software development. This is a spiral development model that provides a clear understanding of ongoing development efforts and provides a disciplined rule set of engineering procedures. Our software efforts have included web- and client-based applications, database development and support, encryption management, identity and access management, user interface design and development, multi-format data warehousing, cloud-based data processing and routing, data collection, and large-scale processing and analytics.
From a technology perspective, we believe the system of systems approach in the sustainment process can capitalize on emerging capabilities in the portfolio to enhance productivity and reduce costs over time (i.e. use SOA services for interfaces, use the rules engine to standardize rules, consolidate redundant applications, anticipate future requirements and capabilities). DTSI believes emerging virtualization and cloud capabilities are potential dollars saving targets not only for new acquisition systems but for properly structured legacy environments. We evaluate opportunities in order to move to more virtualization and potential on-premise cloud opportunities. DTSI has a full range of Information assurance (IA) offerings for our customers that ensure the right information gets to the right people at the right time. IA benefits businesses through the use of information risk management, trust management, resilience, appropriate architecture, system safety, and security, which increases the utility of information to authorized users and reduces the utility of information to unauthorized users. For example, DTSI executes the Air Force Risk Management Framework through a set of processes through which DTSI helps the customer’s management team identify, analyze, and, where necessary, mitigate risks that might adversely affect the realization of the organization’s business objectives. DTSI currently has extensive experience with Fortify and other approved mitigation tools to help ensure secure data.
DTSI has been an active player in the Cloud migration business for the last 2 years. As DoD has moved to a Data Center Consolidation and Cloud-first Strategy our Developers, Analyst, DBAs, and Engineers have been part of this digital transformation. We are actively participating in multiple legacy migrations to AWS and DISA clouds. We have experience in various migration strategies: Rehosting (e.g. lift and shift”, Re-platforming (lift, change and shift), and Refactor/Re-architect where Team DTSI has built whole new applications from scratch with AWS native tools and services. DTSI has learned that a defense IT professional is more than a list of certifications and technical skills, but rather a seasoned veteran who has worked for key organizations, has experience in the military domains, and understands the impacts and ramifications of day-to-day technology decisions. The Air Force spent over $1 billion to modernize its security infrastructure to better defend its computer systems from hacking and intercept. The armed services made a decision to move forward and to replace the 40-year-old, stand-alone, Electronic Key Management System with a networked solution: Key Management Infrastructure (KMI). Our team works with individual communications security experts individually to successfully transition every account in the U.S. Air Force onto the new encryption platform. We prepare the systems, assist the owners every step of the way and test the new system implementation before handing over the keys. Our activities helped the Air Force deliver this capability with a 25% reduction in anticipated cost.
DTSI has provided “Business Intelligence (BI)” capabilities to a variety of customers in several domains. Our personnel has leveraged BI tools to create analytical dashboards, storyboards, mapping, and other collaborative business intelligence for the customer.
One recent example is the use of the Oracle Business Intelligence Edition suite of tools to provide statistical data and enhanced reporting capabilities to selected customers within the Air Force HRSTS community. These customers now possess enhanced data mining capabilities to more efficiently accomplish their specific missions.
DTSI technical experts continue to recognize the importance of cost-effective Business Intelligence and the ability to enable enterprise-wide planning, enterprise alignment, budgeting/forecasting, and other effective processes to enhance the mission-critical processes for the DoD customers they serve.
DTSI helps secure and sustain the nation’s most complex networks from cyber threats. Our cyber command and control expertise works 24/7 to enable cyber operations at the speed of light for our Air Force partners. For over 35 years, we have helped the Air Force develop and sustain mission critical-critical software systems. For 20 years, we have supported the Air Force HR systems with enterprise support, software life cycle support, and desktop support. We have expanded into the exploding cybersecurity field and we are hiring network engineers, system administrators, cyber and intelligence trainers, and cybersecurity specialists at all levels of experience. This cyber team will work to deliver uninterrupted excellence to protect and support the Air Force’s cyber mission.
