A Little About Our Home City -San Antonio, TX
San Antonio has a rich diverse culture and unique history. The city was founded as a Spanish outpost and was the first settlement in Texas. Today San Antonio has grown to become the seventh largest city in America. While culturally we are heavily influenced by Mexico, you’ll also find strong aspects of German, Southern, and African American cultures as well.
We have a rich and strong military history and presence. Joint Base San Antonio is comprised of:
• Lackland Air Force Base
• Randolph Air Force Base
• Fort Sam Houston
These installations are home to nearly 90,000 active duty military. In fact, San Antonio has officially adopted the namesake “Military City, USA!”
Our downtown area is famous for the San Antonio River Walk where you can walk, shop, dine, and you can even hop onto a river taxi. While downtown you’ll be able to take in all the Texas Hospitality that San Antonio has to offer. We have more destinations than just the river walk. We are also home to world renowned museums of history, the arts, and culture. Both Sea World and Six Flags amusements parks call San Antonio home. A must see is the renovated Pearl Brewery a historic complex offering history, restaurants, shopping, and a weekly farmers market.
Perhaps the best part of living in San Antonio is our low cost of living. San Antonio is one of the largest cities in the country, however we enjoy a very low cost of living.
